Release date: 21 August 2026
Marking the fifth anniversary of Bernard Haitink’s passing, Decca is proud to present the third and final limited-edition box in a series that began with the landmark Concertgebouw Orchestra edition and continued with the London recordings.
This edition focuses on Bernard Haitink’s recordings with three of the world’s leading orchestras: the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Berliner Philharmoniker and the Wiener Philharmoniker. In addition, the collection includes recordings of Mahler and Poulenc with the European Community Youth Orchestra, as well as Fidelio from Dresden featuring Jessye Norman. From the early stereo years, it also brings together a collaboration with David Oistrakh, coupling Mozart with Stravinsky. Perhaps most intriguingly, the edition features music by Turnage recorded with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
Presented across 31 CDs, the edition comes with original jackets and a booklet featuring insightful notes by Andrew Stewart.
