Its ten exquisite tracks draw on the pair’s shared cultural heritage, setting poems by Icelandic poets past and present, \u003cem\u003eincluding lyrics by \u003c\/em\u003eÁrnason and Guðmundsdóttir themselves. Viktor adds piano accompaniment to Álfheiður’s hushed, floating vocals throughout, at times playing violin and viola as well, with some tracks featuring additional strings (members of the \u003cstrong\u003eReykjavík Orkestra\u003c\/strong\u003e) and\/or subtle electronic elements.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe duo found inspiration in the work of \u003cem\u003eÓlöf Sigurðardóttir frá Hlöðum (1857-1933), Hulda \u003c\/em\u003e(1881-1946)\u003cem\u003e, Guðfinna Jónsdóttir frá Hömrum (1899-1946), \u003c\/em\u003eSigurður Pálsson (1948-2017)\u003cem\u003e and \u003c\/em\u003eArndís Lóa Magnúsdóttir (b.1994)\u003cem\u003e.
