The "Romanian Rhapsodies" contained on this album (especially No. 1) achieved great fame and are considered key works of Romanian classical music. Enescu, a multi-talented composer and violin virtuoso, was a teacher of Yehudi Menuhin, among others, and lived in Romania, the USA and France. Inspired by the musical heritage of his home country, he created a completely unique oeuvre. Pablo Casals called him "the most amazing musician since Mozart".

The Romanian Rhapsodies Nos. 1 and 2 conducted by Cristian Măcelaru are being released for the first time on high-quality 180 g vinyl. The set also includes an art card in vinyl format signed by Cristian Măcelaru, limited to 150 copies.
