Sheku Kanneh-Mason's debut album “Inspiration”, which topped the charts in 2018, was centered around Shostakovich's 1st Cello Concerto - now he has recorded the 2nd Cello Concerto during his critically acclaimed tour with John Wilson and the Sinfonia of London.
The work can be heard alongside the Shostakovich Cello Sonata and the Britten Cello Sonata, which he recorded with his sister and frequent duo partner Isata Kanneh-Mason.

In 2016, the young Briton won the BBC Young Musician of the Year competition and the Royal Philharmonic Society Young Instrumentalist Duet Prize and was signed to Decca Records in the same year. In October 2018, he was awarded the Opus Klassik as Young Artist of the Year (Cello).
He also became known to a wider audience when he played at the globally televised wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at Windsor Castle on May 19, 2018.
