To mark the 150th anniversary of Maurice Ravel's birth, Decca is presenting a new edition of the 14 CD box set “Ravel - The Complete Edition”. This set brings together all of Ravel's compositions for the first time, making it an indispensable compendium for every Ravel fan. Outstanding recordings with Jean-Yves Thibaudet, Martha Argerich, Ivo Pogorelich, Sir Simon Rattle, John Eliot Gardiner, Claudio Abbado and Cecilia Bartoli stand for the highest artistic quality. The program ranges from Ravel's early piano pieces to songs and chamber music works. The focus is on Ravel's complete works for orchestra, including Daphnis et Chloé, Boléro , Pavane, Le Tombeau de Couperin and La Valse. Ravel's opera L'Heure espagnole is represented in Lorin Maazel's reference recording.
