The Wayne Peterson piece was commissioned and received its performance and recording debut by Dorati's Minneapolis band. Bloch recorded April 17, 1960; Peterson recorded April 21, 1959. Both recordings were made in Northrop Auditorium, Minneapolis MN, using three Schoeps M201 microphones.
