Géza Anda Mozart: Klavierkonzerte No. 17 & 21
Géza Anda, one of the great pianists of his time, was notably praised for his Mozart interpretations. One recording especially that he made for Deutsche Grammophon became immensely famous: The 2nd movement (Andante) of Piano Concerto No. 21 in C Major (K467) was featured in the 1967 Swedish film “Elvira Madigan” and, as a result, the work became widely known as the “Elvira Madigan Concerto”. The complete recording of the Concerto, combined with Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 17 in G Major (K453), was released with artwork featuring actress Pia Degermark in a film still of “Elvira Madigan”. Marking Géza Anda’s centenary in November 2021, this recording is now re-issued on vinyl, mastered from the original sources and presented in 180g pressings with artwork based on the original release.
