Our collection from the DG archive

At the Deutsche Grammophon Shop, you can explore the label’s repertoire in the way that suits you best. We offer formats as diverse as you are.

Many editions are available in several versions, such as a standard CD, a deluxe edition with an expanded booklet, or an elaborately produced vinyl release. This allows you to choose the format and presentation that best fit your collection and your listening habits.

Alongside physical recordings, you will also find selected merchandise that makes the aesthetic of our brand accessible to every fan: on our Deutsche Grammophon merch page, you can discover items that also make ideal gifts for classical music lovers.

Original source vinyl and other treasures

For many people, vinyl is the heart of the Deutsche Grammophon Shop. Long-time listeners in particular will find editions here that fully showcase the technical expertise of the label and Emil Berliner Studios.

The original source: Pure analogue remastered

The original source series sets new standards for analogue reissues. Original multi-track tapes from the 1970s are remastered at Emil Berliner Studios using specially developed technology in 100 percent analogue quality and cut directly from the original tapes, without any digital intermediate steps.

The result is pressings with remarkable clarity, greater dynamic range and noticeably reduced noise. Anyone who wants to hear how legendary recordings by Karajan, Joe Hisaishi or simply some of the finest soundtracks can sound today, when reworked with current expertise and original master tapes, will find a true benchmark in this series.

Legendary conductors and orchestras on vinyl

In the vinyl section, you will encounter the great names of DG history: Claudio Abbado, Martha Argerich, Daniil Trifonov, Anne-Sophie Mutter and many others. Recordings with the Berliner Philharmonic or the Boston Symphony Orchestra,as well as many other ensembles, are available in our carefully curated editions.

The range extends from Romantic symphonies and virtuoso concerto recordings to repertoire that was long out of print and has only now become easily available again thanks to current pressings. For collectors who already own older editions, comparing them with new transfers and mixes is often particularly fascinating.

Special pressings for an even richer experience

If you would like to browse this area specifically, the original source vinyl collection takes you directly to all titles currently available.

There, you can see at a glance which recordings are currently available for pre-order, which are ready to ship immediately and which are already sold out. Tiered pricing for deluxe variants and notes on limited editions help you decide which version is the right one for your collection.

Original soundtracks on vinyl

Deutsche Grammophon stands not only for the core classical repertoire, but also for film music, series projects and competition editions, all of which you can find gathered together in the shop.

Among the soundtrack highlights in the original soundtracks section the shop brings together film music by composers such as Hans Zimmer and many other artists working between classical music, film and gaming.

Recordings from the Chopin Competition

With the Chopin Competition section, we celebrate one of the world’s most important piano events. Editions by prize winners, historical documents and current recordings can all be selected there with ease.

Beyond the competition itself, many pianists are also represented in the shop with their own collections. We offer outstanding works by Jan Lisiecki, Víkingur Ólafsson and Mikhail Pletnev.

Here you will find orchestral scores, animated worlds, television productions and sweeping cinematic soundscapes on vinyl and CD. Many of these soundtracks are elaborately designed, for example with coloured vinyl or special cover variants, making them appealing both to film enthusiasts and to classical fans who want to collect the orchestral repertoire of modern film music.

The number one classical music magazine!

Under news, sessions and insights in the DG magazine, you will find current updates on new releases, festivals, awards and special projects from the label.

This gives you the chance to read more about a new favourite recording at your leisure before deciding whether you would like to add it to your shelf as a vinyl release, a CD or a special edition.
