Tianyao Lyu presents her debut studio album, “Chopin”, a personal collection of her favourite Chopin solo works. One year after her breakthrough at the International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, where she became one of the youngest finalists and received joint Fourth Prize and the Best Concerto Prize, Lyu returns to the composer whose music has played a central role in her remarkable rise.
The programme moves from the intimate lyricism of the Nocturnes and Berceuse to the virtuosic brilliance of the Grande Polonaise and Barcarolle, revealing both the breadth of her musical imagination and her instinct for storytelling at the piano. With appearances in Tokyo, Paris and Warsaw, and forthcoming performances in Munich and Dortmund, Tianyao Lyu brings a fresh and distinctive voice to Chopin's music. “Chopin” is an expressive debut from a young pianist rapidly building an international profile.
