Carlo Maria Giulini & Wiener Philharmoniker Bruckner: Sinfonien Nr. 7 - 9
For the first time Carlo Maria Giulini’s famous interpretations of the last three Bruckner Symphonies with the Wiener Philharmoniker, recorded in the 1990s, will be issued in one vinyl set: Marking the composer’s bicentenary in 2024, Deutsche Grammophon presents these iconic recordings of Symphonies Nos. 7, 8 and 9 in a limited and numbered 6 LP set. The audio material has been newly mixed and transferred to lacquers at Half Speed by Rainer Maillard and Sidney C. Meyer from Emil Berliner Studios. Within the set each Symphony will be presented on 2 LPs in a gatefold with artwork based on the respective original sleeves, and with additional material including recording documentation and photos of Maestro Giulini.
“The Bruckner recordings are uniformly excellent, and show Giulini at his absolute best. They are gloriously played throughout.” (classical.net)
